The Bidding for Blogging, Writing Books Online

Posted by TimSlavin at December 5, 2004

"Apparently, Jeremy has been very busy figuring out how to leverage blogging into the business world. Several months ago I heard that he had entered negotiations to sell his blog to an unnamed (at least not one I can remember now) party. He's back at it again.

This time, Jeremy is amongst the first bloggers I've heard of to offer his services via EBay."

The piece from SocialTwister.com includes a link to the eBay auction item. Final bid: $3500 USD to post 5-10 items a week for three months plus some amount of consulting time. Reminds me that success in anything more often than not hinges on self-promotion.

Then again, Robert Scoble has an even better idea about writing a book on corporate blogging online, getting readers to participate. Perhaps I'll do that with my book, although my topic is very different ('traditional internet marketing' how-to vs a ‘neat type of marketing still in it's early hype stage' possibly/hopefully how-to). Scoble has set up a site for his new book where readers can participate in its creation.
