Sorry to publish a bit late today. This week has been tough in terms of work and computers crashing. My Gateway laptop finally came back but now the software refuses to connect to the internet. Never buy a Gateway, at least if you use it for business as I do. It's not tough enough: this is the third new hard drive in the laptop in two years.
In any event, I posted very little this week. I do want to pass along some vendor URLs if you ever need to find an online payment vendor. A month ago I had to dig out a number of these vendors and thought it might be useful to share. However, the person who asked me to help wound up using their bank, Wells Fargo. I mention that result because in his case their business bank was willing to match the pricing of online competitors. Yours might, too.
The online payment vendors I found are 2Checkout.com, Paysystems, World Pay, Authorize.net, Echo, BeanStream, PSIGate, SECPay, Trust Commerce, Moneris, and Verisign. If you're interested, I found these by finding shopping cart software, checking what gateways they worked with, then going upstream to find those companies.
Also this week, I had reason to test one or two email service providers. I found Intellicontact, a mostly excellent service. However, my client's email links used querystrings and Intellicontact's report pages strip those off. Now we have to use NetTracker to find out what home models people viewed most. So the next round of email for this client will probably go through CoolerEmail which appears to have the ability to add code to your web pages to track traffic from your email to your site and beyond. I would have started with Cooler Email except I like clean user interfaces like Intellicontact and Constant Contact.
Thanks as always for your visits and for reading. Hope you're enjoying your end of summer (or winter, for those in the Southern Hemisphere!).
Tim
