"When Jessica Cutler put her dirty secrets on the Web, she lost her job, signed a book deal, posed for Playboy -- and raised a ton of questions about where America is headed."
This was a titillating story earlier this summer that generated a lot of buzz but was difficult to blog as one item. This article provides a nice overview of what happened when a beautiful young woman blogged for two weeks about her sexual exploits in Washington, then got found out, got fired, got famous. The article raises a few good questions about the intersection of personal behavior and technology. From the Washington Post (free registration required).
Also, as someone who managed people for years for big companies, the behavior of her employers surprises me. I was trained in depth about how to interview people (for example, don't ask people where they live because it's illegal or improper to exclude people who might have to commute long distances) and how to avoid sexual harrassment. Apparently few in Washington have had this sort of training.
