"In the world of spam, where valid e-mail addresses are as good as gold, a group of spammers apparently struck the mother lode at America Online.
The day after a former AOL engineer was arrested on charges of stealing 92 million e-mail addresses that ended up in the hands of spammers, AOL customers fretted about their names circulating in cyberspace's netherworld, and more spammers were scrambling to get the coveted list."
Nice in-depth story, from USATODAY, about the theft last year of AOL email addresses and other personal information. Some good insights into the netherworld of spammers. For example, AOL subscribers are viewed as prime spam targets because they tend to be computer newbies and more gullible.
