The Image Genius website says: "With Image Genius, processing your digital pictures in bulk has never been so easy! Have you got a large number of digital images that need resizing, cropping or masking? How about adjusting the brightness, contrast or colours? Do you want to add a fancy border, drop shadow or special effect to them all? Even adding your company logo or website address to all your images is a snip!"

Looks like a decent tool to consider. Includes FTP capability to transfer files to your web server. They have a 30 day free trial and the price is $29.99 USD, a good deal considering the pain and suffering it prevents. Found through Gadgetopia, which has a good review.
