Stock Photography Resources

Welcome back! Things were busy and productive this week with the website so I posted a normal amount.

One item that I did not get to post, and will next week, is an item that included links to a number of stock photo resources, many that I had not seen. The item also discusses the difference between rights managed images and royalty free images. Most businesses want royalty free, although often rights managed images are less likely to have been used by others.

The item comes from Gadgetopia, a website that covers programming and personal technology. I actually think it's more useful than Gawker. The Gadgetopia item is called My Corbis Nightmare. Some of the stock photo resources mentioned are FreeFoto, iStockPhoto, iStockPro, links to public domain photos, stock.b-man.dk, Image100, Zefa, and MorgueFile. The sites I've used with success are Eyewire, GettyImages, and Photos.com (somewhat).

I did get further this week on a small redesign of the home page (you can see the dev version here). With the arrival of summer, I will take some time off from publishing the website, probably in July when we house sit in Mill Valley, California for a few weeks. I'll be working but the wife and kids will play. We may even get up to Lake Tahoe to swim, canoe, hike, eat, drink. And mini golf.

By the way, I plan to send an email to you this week asking for your ideas about how I might make the next version of ReachCustomersOnline even better. Look for it early next week. I hope you can find time to help!
