Neat CSS Trick: Onion Skinned Drop Shadows

"Animators use onion skinning to render what is impossible to see otherwise: a snapshot of motion across time. Now, web designers can use it to render another seeming impossibility: the truly extensible CSS-based drop shadow." Great CSS tricks from an article at A List Apart. However, as the site notes, the techniques used violate some basic coding principles, chief among them using code for no specific semantic or structural reason. Still it's a neat effect.
