Real Content Management: Consider the Process

Posted by TimSlavin at May 13, 2004

"For a long time now, one of my major complaints about content management systems is that most of them are not well-suited for (indeed, appear to have been designed by people without the slightest clue about) the editorial process. Similarly, too often the people responsible for the budget and major planning for Web sites and intranets don't understand what it takes to create great content on an ongoing basis."

An excellent set of ideas on how content management systems (CMS) can be improved with a focus on the editorial process. From Amy Gahran's Contentious weblog. The best part is that I had thought to link to the Gerry McGovern article she responds to, but I found his piece a little shallow this time round, not enough meat to recommend. Amy has helpfully filled in his blanks.
