Welcome back. I'm always a sucker for articles that link to many more stories on a given topic. Perhaps it's the half-concious response that runs through my head, "Oh, good, there goes another half hour!" This week Where Marketers Go For Information fell into this category. It's the fourth article in a series that links to many different sources of research information for marketers.
Besides the items posted this week, I did come across a few interesting articles in Business 2.0 that I'll post next week. One article describes how the Ritz Carlton hotel chain builds their business around customer service. Another article with Starbucks founder and two investors describe how employee-centric companies beat out customer-centric companies.
And another Business 2.0 article puts some interesting numbers around outsourcing of IT jobs in the US, hot and sore topic here: 9.7 million outsourced jobs apparently go to high paid Europeans while 6.4 million Americans toil for foreign companies. India and China in 2002 had only 420,000 jobs outsourced from the US. What most amazes me about Business 2.0 is their low subscription price for their print magazine: $7.49 USD. I actually offered to pay them more.
Finally, in meat space, the real world, this week I started what will be five months of 10 hour work days. And that's just to keep up with two of my clients. I'm hoping the others remain quiet until at least June so that I can get my work under control. Long story short, I may not post as much to the website although I will try. You may have noticed that there have been no recent Byline articles since early February; I have a few in queue but have not had time to polish them for publication.
Thanks as always for reading and visiting. Let me know if and how I can make this information more useful to you.
Tim
