Difference between a log analyzer and a stats software

Posted by TimSlavin at March 8, 2004

I found a newsgroup thread at Webmasterworld that links to a lot of real life experiences people have had with different website analytics software tools. Message #9, at the bottom of the page, has a lot of links to discussions about different tools. My only caveat is that you should note the date of the messages. Software changes quickly and what did not work well two years ago may work fine today. As always, download demos to try them yourself. I also wrote about this subject in detail, Visitors and Conversions and Page Views, Oh My: Website Activity Reporting Tools.
