Welcome back. This week I found a number of links worth a look, for example, Translate this Page Tool, RhymeZone Rhyming Dictionary and Thesaurus. How to Twist the Sales Department's Arm to Feed Info to Your Marketing Database, and Special Report: Online Coupons 101 - Redemption Data, Vendors, & How to Fight Fraud.
For me, the most interesting was reading the responses to Dave Winer's Your Vision for the Next Generation of Blogging Tools?. There were a lot of good ideas about how to improve weblog content management systems and links to different projects that already do what people wanted.
This week I also (finally) got my Christmas present, a Treo 600. My wireless carrier, T-Mobile, was the last to make them available. My goal is to try and make my Treo a "replacement" for my laptop. I have found FTP software for the PDA, for example, as well as a decent html editor. That challenge will keep me amused for awhile.
I did discover two negatives about the Treo: the wireless carriers have made it work only on their networks so your US mobile phone number may be portable but you're out hundreds of dollars if you want to switch and T-Mobile, at least, sees fit to charge its loyal customers $200 more than new customers (which defies business logic since new customers are far more expensive to acquire than old ones).
In any event, thank you for visiting and reading this week! Both are much appreciated.
Tim
