"It was a good run for Nola Orchards by Silicon Valley standards or by anybody's standards, really.
More than 90 years at the same San Jose location. No accounting scandals or bankruptcy. There were periodic reorganizations, but those consisted mostly of passing power from father to son or husband to wife."
Nice background story about Silicon Valley's past. I remember as a little kid playing in orchards around Grant Road in Los Altos, behind St. Simon's church. Most interesting fact: in 2002 there were still 800 acres of orchards in the Valley. Where?! From the San Jose Mercury News.
