How to tell if your cow is cranky

Posted by TimSlavin at January 15, 2004

"A livestock specialist at the University of Georgia has developed a scoring system that allows owners to assess the temperaments of cattle so they can breed calmer calves.

Studies conducted in Australia, Colorado and elsewhere have shown that serene cattle gain weight faster and provide more tender meat than cranky cattle."

Sorry but I could not resist. This research has interesting implications if we ever become cannibals. It appears the cranky artist perfectionists among us won't have to worry about being eaten. It's the placid ones (cows, humans) who like being cooped up that will yield the tender meat. Those of us who prefer to wander in the fields and the woods are safe. From CNN.com.
