Google and Private Residential Phone Numbers

Posted by TimSlavin at November 17, 2003

FYI, if you're concerned about the privacy of your phone number on the internet, Google gives out your home address with a map to your residence if someone types your phone number with dashes (-) between the groups of numbers. If that bothers you, click on the telephone icon on their search result page. That icon link takes you to a page with a link to remove your phone number. They also provide links to other reverse directories but you have to manually approach each service.
