"Microsoft Corp. let loose early bits of Longhorn at its Professional Developer Conference (PDC) here and for the first time provided more extensive details around the key components of its next Windows operating system expected out in 2006." Good quick overview of the Microsoft operating system that will replace its current XP software. For example, Longhorn will use vector based graphics rather than bitmaps, a significant improvement that will result in sharper lines and better resolutions. From InfoWorld.
