MarketingProfs has an interesting article about SiteBuildIt software and how it can help with the business planning process (and building a website, submitting it to search engines, etc.). While I'm suspicious of all-in-one tools, given how complex it can be to integrate a website into most businesses, the planning portion of their product appears to be a possible alternative to WordTracker and Overture for keyword research to vet business ideas. I would want to understand how their keyword engine works, though, and how recommendations are calculated.

Hi, David Jonah here, Certified SBI Webmaster
I like your newsletter/web site resource and find it valuable. I admire Nick Osborne and when the two came together with comments on SiteSell's SiteBuildIt, I had to take a moment and respond.
Your comments about the fear of templates is now addressed by the new upload feature that allows any HTML editor site to be uploaded and integrated with the amazing SiteSell back end.
The fact that SiteSell drinks its own search engine cool aid and had an Alexa rating of just over 300 and falling rapidly is equally amazing. My first time out I was able to take a small charter airline and build them a web content site that achieved remarkable positioning in record time.
There are two things mentioned by Osborne and they need to be re-emphasized. First, he mentions in his article the Manager Module in SiteSell. It is incredibly powerful and since I use Wordtracker and other research tools, I would have to say that it is the most complete of the all of them in identifying keywords phrase and most importantly understanding how to create an effective URL.
What sets the whole thing apart is the 615 page ebook that comes bundled with the Research Manager that provides a 10 day guided assembly of creating a marketing plan and understanding of who is the customer and how to attract them.
In 30 years of dealing with small business as a community and business publisher, I have yet find a less trendy and more beneficial practical self teaching how to book anywhere on the basics of effective marketing.
You pay $299. US and about to be increased by $100 per annum included URL hosting, powerful content editing tools, an e-zine mail out manager and as of next week a powerful web form designer with automated responder that is part of a personalized webmail system. And that's just the things I remember. Of course the system is set up to automate the submission of your content pages to search engine directories and provides an extensive results reporting area where you can see how your are doing for spider visits and growth in traffic and what it means.
It was for this reason that I joined SBI and have made it my full time business. Oh yes and SiteSell pays lifetime affiliate commissions too.
You would do your growing audience of small business people to go to the following link and understand what SiteSell offers small business people and why it is so far ahead of the rest of world. Don't be put off because we are Canadian and everything great is suppose to come from a Starbucks enabled WiFi office in Malibu; but SiteSell is awesome...even if it is Canadian.
Take a look for yourself using this link. You can email me, a proud SiteSell enabled Canadian at jonah2009@rogers.com There is not a business that this web template system cannot help including this one.

Thanks, David. Having lived in LA many years I'm a fan of Malibu and Starbucks and Wi-Fi. Appreciate the info and the link.
