Soccer Flick Has Legs Online
Soccer Flick Has Legs Online: “Studios use BayTSP’s services to track those Internet users who are violating copyright by passing around unauthorized copies of films. But some say the underground success of Shaolin Soccer shows that BayTSP’s data could also be useful to studios in determining what flicks the public wants.” Duh. Second article I’ve seen about the uses of data exhaust from file sharing services. As long as the data is de-identified, movie studios and record companies could use it to get a much more immediate and clear idea of what people like. The movie also looks to be alot of fun. While the article includes a link to the movie trailer, the link is to their mother ship, Lycos, and the trailer is hard to find. Better to use Google. From Wired.
