Windows Development Cheaper Than Linux: "Windows is significantly cheaper than Linux for developing and deploying portal applications, according to a study conducted by Giga Research. Commissioned by Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) , the report was based on the experience of 12 companies that developed and deployed custom applications. Seven of the companies used Windows development tools, and five used Linux tools." Blame it on the J2EE tools, actually, not open source per se. Short but interesting article. From NewsFactor.
