HitsLink is a real time, remotely hosted, service that provides website activity reporting for a monthly fee. Their demo has excellent detail. Peers include ClickTracks Hosted, IndexTools, EcommStats, WebTrends Live, and WebStat. The HitsLink site includes a 2-3 page piece about the differences between log file analysis and real time remote reporting. Found while researching website activity reporting tools at Webmasterworld. Since these are hosted services, you should ask them to explain how they determine and define their data points, for example, unique visitors, page views, and the like.

A quick update since this page gets some Google traffic. I also would add StatCounter, a hosted website reporting service that is easy to set up and offers a lot of useful features. It's free up to 9,000 page views a day.
