Color Picking for Non-Designers and Designers

Color Schemer is a neat software tool ($49 USD) that helps anyone develop colors that work well together for any project. Match colors, find harmonies, and learn about color theory.

You begin with a single color, then use the tool in several different ways to find a set of colors. Their site also includes good information about colors and how they work together. And they have a small forum. I’ve emailed the company and received quick responses to my questions as well as ideas about how to improve their product.

My experience with clients is that picking colors is like pulling teeth. People know what they want but do not know how to take their color ideas and turn them into a set of colors that work well together. Color Schemer is a neat way to accomplish this task, whether you’re a designer or a business person.
